Message Why did nissan engineer the secondary set of safety maps?

Which "certain conditions" no longer apply due to the changes in the primary maps? Why didn't Nissan just use the primary maps that JWT uses, which, according to you, are safe for all conditions? Doesn't it seem like they would have taken the simpler solution, which would be to use the totally safe, primary maps that JWT uses, instead on engineering a separate, second set of maps? Especially, when, as you claim, that eliminating the secondary set of maps is safer?

Also, you're saying that safety boost and limp mode are the same thing? I was under the impression that they were different conditions - limp mode being cause by substantially more catastrophic conditions, allowing the car to be driven only ~15 mph for the sake of "limping" home. So any car that has 555s or 740s with any condition that would send the car into safety boost (code 34, etc) automatically reverts to the 370cc injector program? I find it hard to believe that this wouldn't immediately cause the car to stop running, since you would flood the engine in short order.

For that matter, any time the engine is cold, (safety boost conditions), shouldn't any car with 555s or 740s be running the 370 program, since the car isn't reading the eprom?
